our premises because that’s extremely convenient for the people who work here,” Ward says. “Why isn’t it at seven o’clock in the morning or ve-thirty
at night? Well, because a lot of people wouldn’t come. In any endeavor, if it’s not very convenient or practical, it typically doesn’t get done, except by the most motivated.”
As a business owner invested in his employees, he says it simply makes sense from a long view to help them maintain their health and well-being. “When people are healthy, they
just perform better. If they’re working out, they’re probably going to be a little healthier. It’s the same reason we have Allium Café,” Ward explains.

“When Tom approached me about doing this, my jaw kind of dropped,” she says. “I’m like,
wait – you’re letting people work out on the clock, and you’re hiring somebody to come in and train them? I think it’s amazing.”
