A Celebration of Life
A Special Message from The Famliy
We wish to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming expressions of
love and condolences we’ve received during our time of bereavement.
The community that nurtured and supported Geraldine is tremendous. We
would like to acknowledge Stella, Tony, Zula, Velma, Sonya, and Robert – special
friends that aided in caring for Geraldine during her final days.
In the wake of great loss, communing with loved ones, sharing stories, and
prayer is unburdening. Unfortunately, due to restrictions on group events –
in response to the global pandemic, we held a small, private memorial
service officiated by Dr. Samuel C. Brown, at her church home, Mt. Vernon
Missionary Baptist Church, on Thursday, April 30th, 2020. Funeral services
were provided by Wright & Calvey Funeral Home. Geraldine was laid to rest
with her other loved ones and family at Holly Gardens Cemetery in
Hammond, Louisiana.
When it’s safer to gather publicly, we will hold a proper celebration
of her homegoing in the grand fashion she was so deserving of,
with all the people that she loved.
Although we are not able to grieve collectively, we invite you to
celebrate the good times – wherever you are.
Thank you, mother, for allowing us to share in the blessing that was you.
Always and forever her children,
Janet, Joseph Jr., Athene, Valarie and Deneen
