Team’s biggest question mark(s): Offensively: We need to improve greatly along the offensive line. Both run blocking and pass protection was poor last year. Defensively: We need to learn how to hold leads in the second half (we had four second half leads slip away last year).
2020 expectations: Our expectations are to field a much tougher, more disci- plined team this season. Our main goal is to compete hard in every game for all four quarters.
More about program: Chino Valley is a great little town. I really feel that they want to be a football town. Our job is to try to help make that a reality. We have some outstanding young men in this program and we are excited to undertake the journey of building a quality football program with them.

Strengths of offense: Returning four of the starting offensive linemen from a year ago. Versatility of the skill position. Experience second year in the system. Hiring of position coaches Mike Young, Lionel Varvel and Bill Laing. This group brings years of experience that will help move the offensive culture forward. QB returning experience and young incoming talent.
Strengths of defense: Returning seven starters and four players that were impact players a year ago on defense. Installation of a new scheme to fit the personnel and allow the players to play. Hiring of new defensive coordinator Malik Starks and position coaches Lyle Hollins, Rich Ruelas and Adrian Paredes. These coaches will raise the bar and create a physical aggressive defensive culture. Aggressive. Team’s biggest question mark(s): We have athletes and experience, can this senior class take the next step and lead the program to the playoffs? Can the sophomore class fill important roles when it comes to playing on Friday nights? We need to create more depth.
2020 expectations: We want to be one team with one goal and go 1-0 each week. If we accomplish this goal, the rest will take care of itself. In 2020, we want to be competitive in every game and not face big losses as a year ago. Improve in the win column from last season. Play aggressive physical brand of defense. Be explosive on offense. As a coaching staff we want to help the senior class reach the goal they set back in January to return the program to the playoffs.
