Rev. Andy Bales describes homelessness in Los Angeles as “the greatest man-made crisis in the United States today.”
In 2022, homelessness continued to soar, jumping 9% in L.A. County and 10% in the city.
On any given night in 2023, 75,518 people are devastated by homelessness
in LA County and 46,260 in LA City.
Over the past three years, more than 2,100 people have died on the streets in Los Angeles County — almost SIX people every day.
More than 1,000 women died while homeless on the streets of Los Angeles County over the past five years.

Across the County*, the number of people experiencing homelessness in shelters was similar to last year, but the CITY OF LOS ANGELES number of our unsheltered neighbors rose.
