 eVisaliaRentryCenter(VRC)isa32-bed,almale,long-term residentialalcoholanddrugtreatmentprogram servingparolesintheCDCRSTOPprogram andTulareCountyDrugMedi-Calrecipients.OurDHCS-licensed residentialtreatmentprogram isa30to90-day,intensiveprogram,designedtoaddrestheresident’ssubstanceuse
disorder(SUD)impairments,enhancelifeandcopingskils,andincreaseself-sufficiency–withtheprimarygoalof preparingclientstolivealcohol/drug-fre,healthy,andproductivelives.Residentsandcounselorsworktogetherto completeanasesmentandprepareanindividualizedtreatmentplanthatidenti􏰀estheclient’sSUD impairments,
eatmentgoalsandobjectives,andprogram servicestobeprovided.Residentsmustcompleteanaverageof25hours perwekoftreatmentservices,includingcognitivebehavioraltherapy,drugeducation,relapsepreventionplanning, angerandstresmanagement,criminalthinking,parenting,andjobreadines.Residentsarepreparedandencouraged
tojobsearchandworkwhileintheprogram.Clientsmayvoluntarilyrequesta30to90-dayextensionintheprogram, sotheycancontinuetomakeprogrestowardtheirtreatmentgoals.
THISYEAR:
InFiscalYear2019-20,thepandemicandshelterinplacepresentedhugeobstaclesandbariersforresidential treatmentprograms,whichhadnegativeimpacttowardreferals,placements,andsucesfulprogram completions. Atthebeginningofthispandemictherewasadeterminednedforcancelingplacementsintheresidential treatmentprogram duetoacountywidenedtoworkoncreatingauniversalplantoensurehealthandsafetyfor bothstaffandresidents.Diligently,VisaliaRe-EntryCenterworkedcloselywithmanagementtodevelopa quarantineprocesinourdetacheddormslocatedinthebackyard.Wedevelopedtheplantoinclude4placements

nTuesday’swithalCDCguidelinespracticed,aftertheintaketheseindividualsweretakentothe dormsandquarantinedfor5dayswithstaffobservationandmonitoringforsignsandsymptoms.Duringtheir
quarantineserviceswerestilprovidedatasafedistance.Aftertheir5dayquarantinewithNO signsorsymptoms theresidentsweretransitionedintothemainhouse.Wehadgreatsuceswithourproces.Duringthe2019-2020 FYVRChad197placementsand79residentssucesfulycompletedtheresidentialtreatmentprogram.
VISALIARECOVERYSERVICES:
VisaliaRecoveryServices(VRS)isaCo-EdOutpatientprogram thatcurentlyservesParolesundertheSTOP Program.WehavebenoperatingtheOutpatientServicesinceFebruary2020.Duringthistimewehaveprovided 74IndividualSesions,and145EducationalGroups.WearecurentlyworkingtoexpandOutpatientServicesto
serveourDrugMedi-Calpopulation.
