Duringthe2019/2020􏰁scalyear,MCRPadmited274participantsfrom variousCDCRinstitutionswitha92% sucesfulcompletionrate. roughouttheyearover1/3ofourpopulationmaintainedgainfulemploymentand dischargedwithpositivefundsintheirtrustacounts.MCRPparticipantshavecompletedatotalof204various
vocationalprogramsandoverhalfofourparticipantsbecamegainfulyemployedthroughourjobdevelopment program.Additionaly,5,870communityservicehourswerecompletedbyparticipants.
SUCCESSSTORY:
AclientarivedtoTurningPointKennemerMCRP-Kernwithapproximately1yearleftofhis7yearsentence.He hadanextensivehistorywithalcoholanddrugs,andspokepasionatelyabouthisdesiretochange.Heatended andparticipatedinalCoreCuriculum groups,learningabouthisbehaviorsandhowtochangethenegative behaviors.Intheproceshebeganapplyingnewskilslearnedwhileatendinggroups,andbeganrestablishing
relationshipsthathadweakenedduringhisincarceration.Hetookadvantageofalavailableprogramssuchas WESTECandGardenPathways,buthisultimategoalwhileattheMCRP-Kernwastoobtaingainfulemployment
avemoneytopurchaseahomeuponhisrelease. edayofhisdischarge,hehadmaintainedgainful employmentatGeneralProductionServiceofCalifornia,making$25.00anhour,andsavedatotalof$27,864.85.
Hesucesfulysurpasedhisgoalofsavingmoneytohaveadownpaymenttopurchaseahome,andleft MCRP-Kernachangedman,readyforlivingthebestlifehecould.
