SinceopeninginOctoberof2019theprogram hasprovidedtriageservicesto172guestsandprovidedatotalof8,858 bednights.Outofthoseservedatthefacility,60% hadapositiveexitfrom theprogram.Covid-19createdchalenges inshelteroperationsforaloftheagency’striageprogramsandcommunitypartners.Alguestswereprovidedwith acestotelehealthservicesthroughFresnoCountyPublicHealthandBehavioralHealthinanefforttoseamlesly providethoseservices.Pharmaciesagredtodelivermedicationtoprogram guestsandmethadoneserviceswere broughtonsite.Staffhasprovidedrecreationalactivitiestoencourageshelteringinplaceandimplementedal
DiseaseControl,includingwearingmasks,providingacestotestingwhen necesary,partneringwithPublicHealthtodosurveilancetestingofguestsandstaff,andhandwashingstations
throughoutthecampus.Additionaly,theStateofCaliforniaprovided28trailerstoFresnoCountytoprovide locationsforisolationofatriskorcovid-19patients. esetrailershavebenextremelybene􏰀cialforprovidingasafe placeforgueststoquarantine.

SW enteredGoldenStateTriageCenteronopeningday.Shehadpreviouslybenhesitantaboutenteringshelter.She
didn’tfelliketherewasanypointtogoingintoshelteranddidn’tthinkthattherewasanythingthatcouldhelpher. Alsoshehadadogandwasnotwilingtoseparatefrom thedogandshewasconcernedaboutlosingherposesionsas thosewerethetreasuresthatshehadgatheredinherlife.Clientalsosufferedfrom mentalhealthandsubstanceuse isuesthatpreventedherfrom movingforwardinherlife.Shespentabout8yearslivingonthestrets. She
re-engagedwithFresnoCountyDepartmentofBehavioralHealthandgotbackonhermedication.Shealsoworked
eManagertoobtainherID,birthcerti􏰀cate,socialsecuritycard,alongwithgetingdocumentationof her8yearsofhomelesnesandveri􏰀cationofherdisability.Withalofthesedocuments,thisclientwasabletoget matchedtoaPermanentSupportiveHousingproject.WithcoordinationbetwenPSH casemanagerandGSTCcase
manager,theclientwasabletoidentifyaunitthatherandherfurycompanionwereabletomoveinto.Notonlydid shegethoused,buthermindsetshiftedfrom hopelesnesandnegativitytobeinghopefulandexcitedforthefuture.
