in Newark. Would ya put him on? Tell him it‘s this Times Square Development thing. Got a notice.
Says they‘re not tearin‘ down my building! That true? (Listens) Oh. (Moment) Well... tell him to call
me. Tell him it‘s an emergency. Tell him Abe Beame‘s here and he wants his desk back. (Hangs up,
mimicking Koch) ―How am I doin‘?‖

ALYSON
(Purposeful half-aside exaggerated mope as Benny prances around) Bet if the Mayor‘s daughter was
here, you‘d send her to Madalyn.

BENNY
Huh? Sweetie pie. Who strolled in here with more talent in her little pinkie than most kids have in
their whole body?

ALYSON
Kelly Rabin.

BENNY
Who‘s my number one?

ALYSON
Kelly Rabin.

BENNY
Would ya stop with- ? Who‘s one of the best kids in the business?

ALYSON
I'm not in the business- that's the problem. Listen. Far as Kelly goes, I‘ll make you a deal. Sign me
with Maddie, I won‘t pop pills, won‘t smoke pot, won‘t get fired, and won‘t act like a spoiled brat. K?

BENNY

ALYSON
