In Company. (Moment of non-recognition) Sondheim? (To Kelly) Get home soon as this is done. Your
audition‘s at six.

KELLY
Do we have to? It‘s a non-union commercial.

JEAN
Two hundred bucks is two hundred bucks. Honey. You‘re not a cute little kid any more. (Kelly mouths
along) Every day there‘s less out there for you. Stop it! You call Maddie? Last time you did, they started
sending you out like crazy.

KELLY
That was before. (Moment) I called her. She‘s looking.

JEAN
What are we supposed to do while she's "looking"- (looks around) This?

KELLY
Would you just go?

JEAN
You got Channel Five and the Times coming. Remember what Mark told you. Nothing about… you know.
(Looking around with disdain) And stay away from the walls when they shoot. (To Alyson) Nice to see
you again. (To Kelly) Six. (Exits)

ALYSON
(Long moment. Trying to be pleasant) So. It‘s really you.

KELLY
(Poltergeist) I‘m back. (Moment, looking at their faces) Did someone die?
