kids.‖ Applause, applause. (Half-aside) I wish.
[Piano stops]
BENNY
Ya want applause? Say it like it means something. New York‘s First Professional Showcase for Kids!
Only professional showcase for kids. Know how much schlock there was out there before I-what!
(That‘s to Alyson, who‘s been gesturing and pointing to the clock)
ALYSON
The clock. Look!
BENNY
Huh?
ALYSON
(Sincere) It's Benny-no-talking-time.
BENNY
(Under his breath) A klog iz mir. (Moment, gestures to Alyson) Go.
ALYSON
Introducing at the keyboard, our coach, our arranger, our accompanist, and our-
ADAM
Our butcher, our baker, our candle-stick maker!
