Center for New Americans welcomes and serves immigrants,
assisting them to integrate successfully into their new community:
• We offer free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL);
• We teach basic computer skills classes, and offer distance learning opportunities
with coaching; students can study English online at home or in the library;
• We teach career pathways classes to prepare students for jobs in healthcare and
in manufacturing;
• We offer career advising services to support students in writing resumes and
applying for jobs;
• We offer citizenship application assistance and coaching to assist immigrants to
naturalize; over 60 Center for New Americans clients naturalize every year;
• We are accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice to offer some immigration
legal services and supported by Best & Associates Immigration Law Partners;
we help clients to prepare applications for change of status and employment
authorizations, for example, and we offer Know Your Rights and other information
sessions;
• Our efforts are supplemented by the time and talents of over 30 volunteers who
tutor, coach, drive, help with data entry, and provide business mentoring;
• Our students represent more than 50 countries and 35 languages and their
courage, motivation, and persistence inspire all that we do.
