HOW IS THIS PROGRAMME DIFFERENT FROM OTHER
MASTER OF LAWS PROGRAMMES?
DEVELOPED IN COLLABORATION WITH THE INTER-PACIFIC
BAR ASSOCIATION
This programme has been developed in collaboration with the Inter‑Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) in recognition
of the needs of legal practitioners doing business in the Asia‑Pacific region.
A complimentary IPBA membership (in the Young Lawyer category) ‑ is given to all College students under
the age of 35 enrolled in the ASEAN+6 LLM programme. Your IPBA membership will entitle you to access the
member benefits and networks of the region’s preeminent legal community.
ASEAN 6 FOCUS
Unlike other international LLM programmes, The College of Law programme focuses on the ASEAN+6 region,
with an emphasis on cross‑border legal practice.
ASEAN: Association of Southeast Asian Nations, which founded the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
ASEAN Member States: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines,
Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
ASEAN6 Nations: Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea and New Zealand
APPLIED LAW FOCUS
Unlike other Master of Laws (LLM) programmes, The College of Law programme is focused on the practice
of law. This means you will learn the law as it is applied in practice. The advantage you gain is that you will
be able to demonstrate to your current or a prospective employer that you are confident about taking on a
new area of practice.
FLEXIBILITY THROUGH MULTIPLE INTAKES EACH YEAR
We have four intakes each year so you can choose over what period you wish to complete the programme.
You might want to study every intake, or every second intake depending on your work and personal
circumstances. We try to build flexibility into our programmes because we understand the realities of
combining work with study.
INTERACTIVE ONLINE LEARNING, SUPPORTED BY YOUR LECTURER
The LLM (Applied Law) is provided online so you can study anywhere, any time to suit your
particular circumstances.
We provide you with a range of resources to ensure your study is an interactive and enjoyable
experience and that you can access your lecturer for support when needed. This is
a proven model accessed by over 5,000 students undertaking College
programmes in Australasia every year.
“The coursework has been absolutely relevant to my daily
practice. The material that was provided to us throughout the
course is constantly being used throughout my practice.”
