Rheem’s bold vision and commitment to sustainability create a culture of environmental performance at various
levels. This is benefiting the local company, Rheem Manufacturing Company (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Rheem has
identified three critical areas in their sustainability efforts: consuming less energy, conserving water, and reducing
waste (see Figure 3)

Consume Less Energy

Singapore ensures that all light fittings are replaced with more energy-efficient LED lights. Besides fluorescent
lights, spotlights in the warehouse are being converted to LED lights.
The room temperature in Rheem Singapore’s office is set to 25 C, and vacant rooms are not cooled. Nature

ventilation is provided in the warehouse. Energy-saving stickers and cards are used to remind staff to switch off
lights and the air-conditioning system.
Figure 4 and Table 1 show Rheem’s electricity consumption from June 2019 to May 2020.
