chocolate babka. I decided upon cinnamon because I could always put Nutella
      on it at home.

After checking out, Mother and I walked the short distance to the lobby
of Agatha’s building and asked the doorman to let Agatha know we were down-
stairs. There was a phone attached to the wall that he picked up and on which
pressed a few buttons to alert Agatha of our presence. He said we could just
leave the groceries on this wooden bench, that to me looked like a church pew
that had been stolen and repurposed as public seating, but Agatha had insisted
on coming down to give mother a check to repay her for the kind gesture of
shopping for her. So we waited and as we did so, I sat on a fancy, carved wood
swivel stool that was obviously the doorman’s. I don’t think he appreciated that
because I earned a few aggressive glances from him, but it’s not like he had
been using it so i figured I’d cure the stool of its loneliness by spinning on it like
a child sitting in the teacher’s chair.

Agatha appeared with open arms and an envelope containing a check.
After pleasantries were exchanged, we exited gracefully and headed home to
cook a dinner of our own. In times of worldwide distress love and kindness is
so valued by everyone. Since that day I have delivered food to Agatha once more
(the doorman wouldn’t let me sit on his chair this time) and I have realized that
doing good deeds for people makes me feel lighter and brighter.
