About the Writer

Oscar Wilde (1854–1900) was an Irish author, poet and playwright. His
novel The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of his most famous novels. The
Importance of Being Earnest is one of his best known plays. He was
also a prolific short story writer with many famous short-stories like ‘The
Nightingale and the Rose’ and ‘The Model Millionaire’. ‘The Happy
Prince’ is another of his better-known works.

Let us read a story about a prince and a swallow who tried to make others happy.
