               Phrasal verbs

               A phrasal verb is a verb that is made up of a main verb with an adverb or a
               preposition or both. The meaning of a phrasal verb is not obvious from the meanings of
               the individual words.


               Three types of phrasal verbs can be formed from a single-word verb:
