Timber Hitch
Just as its name suggests, the Timber Hitch is traditionally used to hoist
or drag logs or poles.
1 Start by tying a Half Hitch.
2 Continue making additional wraps, as shown.
As you can see, this hitch will work best if you place strain on it
along the direction of the object the rope is hitched to—it will keep the
knot tight.
