AGC JOURNAL 2016
Let the Games Begin
Over the day, the eight teams battled it out
and in certain events went head-to-head
to get their hands on the winning prize at
the end of the day. The assault course went
from a pleasant game to an all out war
event and proved the AGC can tackle any
obstacle thrown at them. The bungee run
exposed the competitive ‘mum’s and dad’s’
until they got pinged back to the start.
The Tug of War separated the strong from
the weak and noughts and crosses got
everyone to think on their feet, particularly
when you had to keep sprinting towards
the board with little time to think. The
most popular events were the Rodeo Bull
and the blow up table-top human football.
After a break for lunch it was back to the
games in the afternoon to finish the task
in hand; who would be mighty winning
team?
Endnote
With the weather holding out for the
remainder of the afternoon, all there
was left to do was add up the scores
and present the winning team with the
prestigious AGC coin and the Northern
Ireland Corps Day shield. The day ended
with a well earned barbecue and karaoke.
Watch out X Factor, SPS Branch might just
be on its way……
All in all, a good day that everyone
enjoyed. I am already looking forward to
the next Northern Ireland Corps Day in
2017.
