Dalton Barracks
Sports Day
By Corporal Hugh Barnett
A mere two weeks before my wedding day and my hair receding
slower than I would like it to, in order to obtain a likeness towards Jack
Nicholson left me with one decision. I took it upon myself to announce
that the Detachment from 4 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps would hold a
Sports Day at Dalton Barracks.

‘out of the box’ would ensure that the teams achieved
cohesion.
The Events
After three hours of setting up for the various sports
and events, the barbecue was lit for some breakfast.
The teams were created and mixed from members of
the units taking part. All of the team members put their
hearts into winning much needed points to earn those
trophies. The events that would come between the teams
and those valuable points consisted of: Warming

volleyball from their side of the court over the volleyball
net to the other side of the court to earn their points. The
difference being that the volleyball net had been covered
with ponchos so that the opposite team could not see
where the ball was until it came over the net. Major Olly Martin presents
