“In wisdom gathered over time I have found that every experience is a form of exploration.” “The first rule of an expedition is that everyone should stick together.” Ansel Adams
At GEMS OOD, we have always believed in taking small but consistent steps towards bringing high quality education to our students. Our education journey is unique and our leadership provides a sense of moral purpose to our community. We are constantly striving to reform our community and raise students’ achievement through a sustainable vision and result-oriented goals.
The academic year 2018-19 has been a successful one and our students have performed above expectations in academic and non-academic areas, progressing significantly towards achieving the UAE Vision 2021. The 2018 DSIB inspections acknowledged our progress and improvements in 13 performance standards. Our Elementary stage and Exit stage were noted as enriched learning platforms for providing an amalgamation of scholastic and co-scholastic activities. There was noticeable progress in our students’ achievement in international benchmark assessments this academic year. Raising our bars further to achieve National Agenda targets is embedded in our instructional practices and will remain as our prime focus. Our key targets for school improvement areas include raising the attainment and progress in Arabic across all phases, and to provide further opportunities for critical thinking and independent learning in lower and transition phases. We, as
a team, are committed to providing continuous guidance and support to lay a strong foundation and ensuring that our students finish their school equipped with adequate skills to navigate their future.
Our inclusion policy propagates our faith in the unique talent of every learner
and our determination in bringing up bottom-level performers. We believe in
being transparent in maintaining ambitious standards to ensure that everyone understands what students are expected to achieve. We aim to drive performance and build up accountability through improving the trust of our stakeholders and professional skills of our teachers, with a focus on the goal of “No child left behind”. Our school targets are set for students’ performance, measuring progress and making improvements as well as supporting, evaluating and developing teacher quality. We continue to focus on building teacher capacity to make the required improvements, engagement of students, and broader community support.
Our policies and organizational structure are designed to address performance deficits among all student groups’ while providing the higher order thinking skills and broader curriculum that all students need in a global, knowledge based society. As a school, we believe in positive transformation through a supportive school culture, leadership participation, collaborative peer mentoring, engaged professional learning and adoption of innovative teaching methods that focus on organizational change and individual behaviors.
We assure you that our collective engagement builds the relational connection with teachers, classes and school that benefits your child’s learning, growth and development considering student success as the vital goal for all school endeavors. Thank you parents for your ongoing support and choosing GEMS OOD for your child where we provide the BEST education full of incredible experiences.
