2018 has been a fabulous, unforgettable and memorable year. A year of accomplishments and achievements for the Kindergarten, the highlight of which was our exceptional improvement in the DSIB inspection ratings. I would like to extend a very special THANK YOU to all the wonderful, motivated teachers for their dedicated work ethic and stamina. This also implies that while we pat our back for adding value, we must continuously strive to sharpen our saw.
‘Play’ is the most effective and natural way through which a child learns. Learning of a high quality happens during free flow play which has an everlasting impact. It is only through play that children develop deeper understanding of concepts and it gives opportunities to imagine and translate experiences into something meaningful. Gay Greenland rightfully states in ‘Rigorous Academics
in Preschool and Kindergarten’, “In high-quality preschools and kindergartens, academic learning is playful and exploratory. Teachers skillfully weave in academic goals and objectives as they build on what children can do, and challenge them to try new things.” We nurtured play through our learning corners, outdoor activities and choice time which gave children ample opportunities to explore, experiment, enhance and enrich.
All children participated with great enthusiasm and vigor in school events like Sports day, Annual Concert and Interschool Rhythm and Rhyme competition. It has been a delight to watch children play, learn and grow. They are now ready to move ahead and face new challenges. Wishing them all the best!
