HEAD OF PRIMARY SCHOOL
In the Golden Jubilee year of GEMS Our Own Dubai, the students of Primary section brought home innumerable awards and accolades. A few proud moments were, when the students of Grade 4 won the Overall Rolling Trophy for the third consecutive year at the Interschool KGS Music Festival Competition, by being winners for the Group Song and for the Best Solo Singing. The students of Grades 1 to 4 won the Overall Rolling Trophy for boys as well as for girls.
They participated in Elocution, Group Read Aloud competition, English Declamation and JAM competition. These achievements are the evidence of the excellent speaking skills and leadership qualities of our students. Yes, in Primary we focus on strengthening the LSRW skills of our students which helps them to be self- confident. The little authors of Grade 4 created story books and presented it to their Kindergarten friends. Our students also displayed their talents in Sports and Games by being winners at the Inter-School Athletic Meet.
In the international assessment TIMSS- 2015, once again students of Grade 4, outperformed and exceeded, the target score set for the school in Math and Science. In ASSET – 2018, students
of Grades 3 and 4 scored above the international benchmarking standards in English, Math and Science. The success in the curricular and co-curricular activities is the result of the collaborative effort of the students, parents, teachers and the leadership team.
The well planned morning assembly programmes, drill display, Elocution Competition, Artistic expression, Our Own Challengers, Sciensational Fair , Sudoku, Chess, Talent Hunt etc. are some of the activities where students of the Primary section are given opportunity to showcase their caliber. The exposure and experience to the myriad of inter and intra school competitions, activities and assessments prepare Primary students for their smooth transition to the Middle School. My sincere thanks and gratitude to the hardworking and dedicated team of teachers and Supervisors who work tirelessly for the holistic development of our students. Sincere gratitude to all the parents for their relentless support and cooperation.
