     HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL
Great is the art of beginning; greater is the art of ending and ending well.
2018 has been a year of growth, challenge and achievements. As the academic year ends, I take the opportunity to reflect on our achievements, our mistakes, our stumbles and our losses. It
was a matter of pride and privilege for me to be associated with the Senior School. At this point, I thank the highly engaged team of teachers and my fabulous Supervisor colleagues for motivating, guiding and leading the students to new horizons. The partners in this mission for excellence are our students, with their active participation in lessons and outstandingly positive attitudes towards learning. They are a true credit to the school and their parents.
The DSIB inspections confirmed the achievement of our students in the artistic, academic, social, cultural, sporting and intellectual facets. We will continue to focus relentlessly on raising standards and ensuring that our students are given the very best in life. At this juncture I must mention the unique and innovative curriculum of the Senior School energized by the culture and values of the UAE and enhanced by the range of experiences that broaden learning, seamlessly. The Life Skill Summit, Overnight Camp, the KSV Elocution, the Pathfinder Helpdesk, Field trips, Talent Contests, and Athletic Meet were some of the magic moments where in the students got the opportunity to be empowered and enlightened. The skills they learnt are priceless.
GEMS OOD is more than a school; it is a community where enjoyment and achievement go hand in hand. I owe my the thanks to the parent community, for their ongoing commitment and for the sterling support they have given the school.
It is time to say goodbye to 2018-19 with pride and look ahead with optimism and excitement to 2019-2020.
