GLOSSARY
Cook (v) : to prepare food by heating it, for example by boiling,
baking or frying it
Hot (adj) : having a high temperature; producing heat
Make (v) : to create or prepare something by combining materials
or putting parts together
Mix (v) : if two or more substances or things mix or
you mix them, they combine, usually in a way that means
they cannot easily be separated
Mixture (n) : a combination of different things
Pour (v) : to make a liquid or other substance flow from a
container in a continuous stream, especially by holding
the container at an angle
Preheat (v) : preheat something to heat an oven to a particular
temperature before you put food in it to cook
Put (v) : to move something into a particular place or position
Serve (v) : to give somebody food or drink, for example at a
restaurant or during a meal
Stir (v) : to mix a liquid or other substance by moving an object
such as spoon in a circular pattern
Wrap (v) : to cover something completely in paper or other
material, for example when you are giving it as a present
