Good afternoon and welcome to Chalky
Lane for today's game. I extend that greet-
ing to all travelling from Eversley, along
with the match officials and of course the
spectators who have been out in their num-
bers so far this season.
After a busy few weeks in the opening schedule of fixtures we've
had a week to recharge the batteries and hopefully that will stand us
in good shape for today.
Our start to the league campaign has been good but it's clear
already that it's a league that where, on their day, the majority of
teams are able to pick up points and put a good run of results to-
gether.
There have been some injuries to contend with and last week we
were pretty depleted when we crashed out of the Vase at the first
hurdle so to start getting some of those boy's back over the next
week or so will give us a timely boost as we look to build momen-
tum.
A busy October will be critical in the push for the top spots and we
ourselves have some tasty looking fixtures to contest, especially the
visit of Jersey as one that stands out.
With no game ever being a given we know that today will be an-
other tough test and also a marker of how well we are progressing.
If we are able to pick up three points it will mark a level of consist-
ency that we were unable to achieve last season and give us a good
platform to build from.
With continued hard work and togetherness we hope to push on
this year and who knows where that will take us. As a group we are
very clear on our target for the season and that requires a good per-
formance today and many more during the course of the season.
