Chairman's notes

Another away win. Another three points. An-
other step in the right direction for The Vale.
Coming so soon after a disappointing day at
the office against CB Hounslow this win again
shows that RPV do have plenty of what Iain
          Dowie termed 'bouncebackability'! A poor
performance one Saturday is never good to
see, especially against a team that a squad of our
quality should have had on the ropes, but the way a team responds
to those kinds of performances says a lot about the strength and
character of the team, the coaching staff and the manager. It's early
days in the season and there is a lot of uncertainty ahead but this
has been a pretty decent start for The Vale with three wins out of six
and some good, solid performances from the lads. It's not the kind
of record that will win us promotion but, like the other work in
progress around the club, it's pointing in the right direction and, as
the squad settle in, the mild habit of winning seems to be one that
the team are enjoying. Almost as much as the fans are!

Tonight we welcome Banstead Athletic who are also enjoying a
pretty healthy mid-table position and I look forward to a great
match and to meeting as many of our guests as I can.

                                                 John Dalton

                                                 Chairman,
                                                 raynes Park Vale F.C.
