ST SAVIOUR'S CHURCH
Situated on Grand Drive, just around the corner from
the Raynes Park Vale ground, St Saviour's Church
was designed by the renowned architect
Arthur W Blomfield. The church
was consecrated by the Bishop
of Southwark on 14 July 1906.
The east wall of the church
features a magnificent stained
glass window depicting Je-
sus in heaven surrounded by
angels and saints. Two smaller
stained glass windows are dedicated to the memory of Wing Commander Frank Ar-
thur Brock who invented the Brock Anti-Zeppelin bullet which was used in WWI.
Although an Anglican church, it contains features usually to be found in Roman
Catholic churches, including depictions of the stations of the cross, a small font of
holy water by the entrance and statue of the Virgin Mary at the rear of the church.
