oday we play host to Cove at ‘The Lane’ and a warm
Twelcome awaits their players, officials and supporters.
The last couple of results have been disappointing for
us but the grit and determination we showed in the second half of the
F.A. Vase game against Lancing, who are unbeaten so far this season,
demonstrated just what we are capable of if we apply ourselves. It was
great to see Gonzalo Esteller-Valverde come on as sub and score his first
goal for the club, hopefully, there’ll be many more. There were also some
solid performances from the young lads against Lancing, it’s inspiring to
witness them break into the first team and make their mark.
Today we face Cove, we go into this game level pegging on points and
have both scored 9 goals so far this season, but their 0-7 defeat to Farn-
ham Town on the August Bank Holiday means they are well below us on
goal difference. Cove’s 0-2 away win against British Airways and Tues-
day’s shock 1-2 result against Sandhurst Town shows how dangerous
they can be away from home. There are four other teams all on 7 points,
so there’s everything to play for today, we should be in for a highly com-
petitive match.
