NEW FLOODLIGHTS - LET THERE BE LIGHT IN THE BAR OR IN

Work on the installation of THE GROUND
        the new floodlights contin-
        ues apace. With the removal
        of the old floodlights, which
have been in place since 1980,
        the digging of the foundations
        in readiness for the concrete
        bases has begun. Allowing two
weeks for the concrete to set,
        the installation of the pylons
        and lights should be complet-
ed before the end of February. Everyone is waiting with bated breath for the
lights to be finally switched on, and evening matches to be played again.
Perhaps there should be a switching on ceremony with someone famous to
throw the switch on the lights, the Gaffer's brother Conor Gallagher or Wim-
bledon and Liverpool favourite John Scales would be the obvious choices, fail-
ing that, Barry from Eastenders will probably be available.
