how ended up not taking all three points.
Early pressure came in the shape of Freddie
Myers on his return to his former side, making
darting runs down the left-wing and peppering
the Cove box with crosses. Elliot Baptiste and El-
lis Lentell providing service on right side doing
everything except finding someone to connect
to and score.
Against the run of play the inevitable happened,
a well-worked move, and a great finish from
Cove’s number 9 Ryan Lupton put the visitors
in front after 16 minutes. United continued to
pile on the pressure but went in at half-time
trailing 0-1.
The second half was more of the same, Unit-
ed pulled out all the stops in an effort to grab
the equaliser, with Lentell, stretching the Cove
defence on the right-wing.
Despite all the possession United couldn’t cre-
ate enough clear cut chances against a Cove United who were up against a team that took their
side that defended well, as in the first half, a chances when they came, and they will count it as a
