MARY AT LASALLE
At the LaSalle Egg and Art Show in 2012, a tiny 8 year old, curly red haired miss called Mary, stole my heart away. She rst came up to my table and started paging through my books. Part way through, she left. Shortly later she was back, and continued her paging. Again she left. And again for the third time she returned and paged some more. Throughout all of this, happy patter passed between us. Fi- nally, I invited her to come and look at my greeting cards on another table. I asked her which one she liked and she chose the “Rabbit in Heaven” card. I presented it to her as a gift and she scurried o to show her mother. Some time later, she and her mother were leav- ing. They were some distance from my table, but Mary went out of her way to rush over, and with a big smile presented her right hand for me to shake and said, “Thank you” like a well mannered young lady. Life is good.
