TINA AT SUNSHINE BLUE SKIES
At a book signing at Sunshine Blue Skies gift shop, in an extended conversation with Tina, a customer, we learned that both of us are o spring of Italian immigrants who pursued the American dream for themselves and especially for their children. I asked her if she had read the dedication to my second book. She said “no”, so I opened the book to its page for her and she read: “dedicated to my immigrant parents, pompilio and lucia, who, though not wealthy, gifted me with the greatest gift of my life... America.” Tina burst
into tears—a niagara streamed from her eyes rolling down her cheeks. She rushed forward, and wrapped her arms around me, and squeezed me in a tremendous hug. Two souls in tune.
