THE CONRAD WEISER KIDS
A joy of my life is spending time with children. One activity is teach- ing “book buddies”, which is a team made up of a 4th grader and 1st grader, how to get ideas for haiku poetry. The rst time I did it, I was outside the front o ce waiting for the 1st grade teacher. Eventually, she appeared at the far end of a long hallway, and I thought, “Ah, there she is.” But then, I looked again and a child appeared behind her. And then another child. And another. And another. Until there was a long parade of tiny people. All coming to greet me. Which they did with a chorus of “Hello, Mr. Corcetto!”
