Let us share our conviction
Experts expect to have a range of more than 100 EV passenger cars available by 2020.
With the ambitious target recently announced by the Indian government to become fully
EV-enabled by 2030 it is very likely that other nations, such as China, follow this example.
In both nations, China and India, the two-wheeler industry has already introduced various
EV bikes which are affordable and attractive enough to reach the volume market
acceptance.
As the energy storage industry has also made significant advances in recent years and
more to expect, the EV infrastructure is about to become the junction of affordable and
decentralised energy infrastructure and the mobility industry.
On the other side, transforming an entire nation such as India to become fully EV-enabled
by 2030 is a huge challenge which goes beyond the matter of pure techology.
With the approach to empower Rwanda to become fully EV-enabled even earlier than
India, it also supports Indian strategy. While Rwanda does not have a higher population
than the Netherlands, the macro-economic data in Rwanda are more comparable with
those in India than those of the Netherlands.
Hence, nation-wide conclusions for the Indian target to get fully EV-enabed by 2030 can
easier be taken from Rwanda than from any OECD country.
