PREFACE

Praise to Allah the Almighty, the Lord of the universe for His blessings and mercies, and

shalawat and salam are just for our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), upon which

we can accomplish the making of English module entitled “Test of English Competence Preparation
Course” .

This module contains general strategies in TOEFL test as an introductory course to TOEFL for
the students to meet the requirement of minimum TOEC score stipulated by the university Quality

Assurance.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Sembodo Ardi Widodo, M.Ag., the Director of the
Center for Language Development of UIN Sunan Kalijaga respectively, for his trust and support, and

all parties who have given their valuable assistances during the process of writing this module. We do
realize that this module is still far from being perfect. Consequently, we invite the suggestions and

constructive inputs from the users of this module. Lastly, we hope that this book will be beneficial to
assist the students to reach their study goals and a contribution to English teaching and learning

practices and processes in UIN Sunan Kalijaga especially and in the wider scope generally.
