THE NATuRAL LIFE
For nature-lovers, as well as the Botanic Park, North Side also offers the Mastic Trail, a large part of which (known as the Mastic Reserve) is under the care of the National Trust for the Cayman Islands. This is a location where you can step back
in time as your guide takes you on a two-mile hike through
one of the largest examples of pristine, native Caribbean dry forest, as well as subtropical mangrove swamps. It gives visitors the opportunity to see local wildlife, while in the hands of an experienced National Trust guide.
Drive around North Side and you will happen upon unspoilt beaches that are probably deserted and well worth a stop just to take in the gorgeous views.

The Kaibo marina and restaurant
Here you can enjoy great food, a beach bar and a gorgeous, boat-lined marina set right on the palm fringed beach. This is the “real” Cayman with its beach bar at sea level, and their upscale Upstairs restaurant on the first floor. For party-lovers Kaibo holds a Barefoot Beach BBq every Tuesday night, where you can eat at an endless buffet and dance under the stars to local band Bonafide and take part in the fun of limbo and conga dancing.
Find your way to the beautiful Starfish Point all the way out at the end of Water Cay and marvel at these amazing sea creatures in bath warm and shallow waters, so clear you can easily spot these fascinating animals – but be careful not to take them out of the water otherwise you can harm them.

visitors, it is also home to a growing number of small, local businesses such as The Farmacy, set up just a couple of years ago by Josh Clark on Frank Sound Road. The farm, with its goats, pigs, chickens and vegetables, prides itself on producing fresh and healthy food for locals and visitors alike.
Kids will enjoy a really cool North Side find – Davinoff’s Concrete Sculpture Garden, that’s complete with all manner of cool animal sculptures, such as Ivana the Blue Iguana and the Spectre 007 Octopus. It is as if these creatures have been carved right out of the ground and are a fun sight for young and old.
