PHIL TURNBULL’S passion for photography began around the age of 16 when he
was given a second hand film camera for his birthday. Nowadays, as a self-taught photographer, he enjoys shooting landscapes and portraits for fun. A banker by trade, Phil has lived in Cayman for over 20 years. Phil’s district of George Town provides him with his top three places in Cayman: the Cayman Islands Sports Shooting Association gun range (he likes to shoot more than just photos!), Rackams bar on the waterfront and his own back garden.
JULIE CORSETTI arrived in Cayman 1994 and began taking underwater photographs as a scuba diving instructor. In 2002 she founded Deep Blue Images, specialising in
both landscape and lifestyle photography. Her photographs have been published in the New York Times, Robb Report, Cayman Skies as well as other publications. Enjoy Julie’s artwork and large wall prints by visiting her studio in number 13 Cayman Village. View her company website @ www.deepblueimages.com.
CHASE DARNELL is an award-winning underwater photographer and filmmaker currently based in Grand Cayman with Cayman Turtle Divers. With the crystal clear waters of Cayman at his full disposal, Chase is in the water daily with a camera in hand to document his experiences. He accounts his images to a simple theory: “More hours in the water equals more life-changing experiences.” Chase shot the gorgeous underwater photos for our Dive In feature.
With his wife, Marion, TERRY HASLER has been a regular visitor to Grand Cayman for over 20 years, swapping the chills of Lincolnshire, England for Cayman’s sunshine for a couple of weeks at a time. Terry has been a journalist and editor for over half a century, working on some of the UK’s top selling publications, such as The Sun newspaper, as well as editing London’s Metropolitan Police’s newspaper The Job. Terry’s favourite adopted district is George Town, because it is home to the restful Smith Cove, a firm favourite place to visit whenever he and his wife are on island.
