to prioritise the tasks from A to C, and then prioritised the As from 1 to 3. This enables me to start on the most important tasks at hand, the A1s. We have put time frames in place and we have given ownership.
This is where the Success Module has a team effect, as setting the plan is often done in a brainstorming session. Sit down, brainstorm the tasks and key result areas, and then fill out each section, assign ownership and priorities. It’s a great communication tool and provides extreme focus for project completion.
The Success Module can be built in Google Docs to share electronically, or team members can share a hard copy. As a team, you would re-gather to review the plan and if it is electronic, you will see progress in real time. Obviously, people having ownership must be aware of the tasks they need to complete. They also need to agree to them.
Just a tip here: it is best to get in first if you are going to be delayed in delivering on your task rather than letting down the person relying on you to complete it. If you are not going to hit the target, tell people in advance before they find out. They will appreciate the notice but won’t appreciate it if they find out after you let them down!
Now, let’s look at what our Success Module looks like at the end of January 2019.
