I must be a sucker for punishment, as it happened again because there was too much emotion involved... the entrepreneur again. You need to take the emotion out of it and work through the consequences (see Part 2: Chapter 2.4).
We’ve got to remind ourselves: it’s easy to get into things, but hard to get out of them.
I have since overcome these silly decisions in property by putting Simple Rules in place for my property investments – it is saving me a lot of money and energy! The same applies to my other business decisions as I applied more discipline to business – helped by a clearer model, knowing the purpose of the business, and the experience of learning the hard way!
Paulism: When we are about to rush into another opportunity, remember how difficult it is to get out of if it doesn’t work out. Take the emotion out of it and slow down.
