reads ‘abxxy’ to everyone! I wasn’t the only one who thought it was called ‘abxxy’ not ‘xyzzy’. Too complicated.
Keep it simple, don’t be too clever. Take out the Curse of Assumption (COA).
2.3.3 Referral schemes
Referral schemes can be complicated and take huge amounts of administration. The easiest way of getting a referral is to ‘knock their socks off’ with good service. Old-fashioned good service. None of the ‘refer me and we will give you this and the referrer that’. I have never seen any of these schemes work long term.
2.3.4 Management
I also think we complicate management too much. There are so many theories and books – I have been to various management courses and seen that most of the audience haven’t got a clue what is being taught because it’s all too theoretical and complicated.
My KIS theory to good management: 80% of the result is due to a clear plan and communication about where you’re going; strong, simple systems with KPIs (Key Perfromance Indicators) and building a team that respects you and you give them respect and reward.
