Candles can be a significant source of warmth, welcome and centering for people in uncertain times. Thank you to the Silverstream Lions Club who funded 50 powered candles for the Hospice, as they celebrated their 50th Anniversary recently.
This generous donation will mean we
can use candles more freely in our ceremonies and with patients and whānau, without having to use battery operated candles – in our commitment to being more sustainable.
One of these candles was placed in a patient’s room recently. The patient’s husband commented on how lovely it was to have it there for her in her last stage of life, creating a beautiful atmosphere.
