Sonali Biswas, an international graduate student from India, sits on the terrace outside of Bara Imambara, in Uttar Pradesh, India. Sonali enjoys visiting the site because of its magnificent architecture. In the background, we see the entrance to the central hall of the Imambara, which sits atop a massive labyrinth of interconnected passageways. Fresno State is pleased to wel- come Sonali, a recipient of the Muhareb family’s philanthropic gifts to recruit extraordinarily talented international students. International students share globally diverse ideas, values and perspectives with our domestic students, our campus staff, our faculty and our community. Many students in our region have not yet had the opportunity to travel internationally, so their exposure to global diversity is most likely to occur on our campus. Academically, Sonali pur- sues a Master of Science degree in Biology.
