The vision for Canada Water was to cre- ate a high-density mixed-use development where streets and townscape are with hu- man-scale.
The urban concept is formed with the reg- ular grid of blocks and streets with the urban block’s grid ratio of approx 1:2. The excep- tions would be existing Printwork Building, and Surrey Quays Road would remain in its existing configuration, and they do not inform the grid.
Embedded in the urban fabric’s very heart is the Long Park interrupted with the pro- posed North-South water route between Canada Water Dock and Greenland Dock. Between Canada Water and Surrey Quays stations would be main North-South Retail Route.
Urban blocks must comprise 2-3 buildings minimum and approx 8-storeys high.
High rise buildings must surround the Long Park.
