At Whitman College, we have used local rubble stone for the walls and Indiana limestone for all sculptural elements and dressings combining a ll in that unique mix, cut and composition that ‘spells Princeton’. In energy terms, this form of construction offers enormous advantages over lightweight steel or concrete structures.
Project cost: $145 million; 250,000 gross square feet; Student residents: 500 undergraduates and 10 graduate students
