Parkside is a housing development in Val d’Europe near Paris commissioned by Disney Imagineering. The project in- cludes three hundred residential apartments and several larg- er houses. Apart from the commercial aspect, a small number of building variations contributes to the new neighbourhood’s formal cohesion. Simultaneously, variations in architectural de- tails, siting and orientation within each block, colour and plant- ing, allowed for variety while retaining the coherence of overall scheme. The buildings feature beautiful details and simple, sol- id materials that will weather and mature with time.
