President’s
Message
by Dave Cook
Christmas will soon be upon us and as I reflect on 2019, I am grateful
for so many things, as I am blessed with a life filled with great family
and friends. I also think about those who have been less fortunate
and have suffered through hurricanes, floods and wildfires this year
and pray that 2020 will be a better year for them. With each natural
disaster many of our furry friends are lost or displaced and need help.
I am proud that CCCI, along with many other dog clubs, has joined in
donating funds to help with rescue efforts and will continue to do so in
the future.
The 2019 National Specialty is only a few months away and I hope
everyone is making plans to be in Orlando from April 22nd through
April 25th. The show committee is working hard to make this another
great specialty and one you do not want to miss. Also mark your
calendars now for the 2020 National Specialty, which will take place
from April 26th through April 30th in Grand Island, NY. While
not official yet, plans are to support shows across the border in
Canada after the National Specialty, so you can also get a Canadian
Championship on your Chow as well.
For anyone looking to host the 2021 National Specialty, bids are due
no later than March 22, 2019. If you need any help or have questions
regarding the bid packet, please reach out to me and I am always
happy to help.
As always, it is an honor to serve as your
President and please feel free to contact me
should you have any suggestions or concerns
by email at huchu@aol.com or on my cell at
(630) 878-2019. May your holiday season be
filled with happiness and may the New Year
bring you good health and prosperity. I look
forward to seeing everyone in Orlando in
April.
