Be sure to mark your calendars now for the 2020 National Spe-
cialty, which will take place from April 26th through April 30th
in Niagara Falls, NY. There will be 3 regional specialties along
with the National Specialty. The judges for the 2020 National
Specialty were recently selected and congratulations to Dr. Joyce Dandridge
on being selected as the 2020 National Specialty Conformation judge and to
Barbara Becker for being selected as the Sweepstakes judge.

Following our National Specialty will be three days of Canadian shows includ-
ing the Canadian National Specialty and the Chow Chow Fanciers of Ontario
Specialty just a short distance away in Thorold, Ontario. This is a rare opportu-
nity to attend the National Specialty and to try and obtain a Canadian Cham-
pionship on your Chow as well. Please note that entries are limited and if you
plan on entering do so early.

The 2021 National Specialty will be held at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg in Camp Hill, PA on
April 19th through the 22nd so please put those dates in your calendar as well. The Southern
Chow Chow Club will be our host. The judges for the 2021 National Specialty were also recently
selected and congratulations to Dave Foose on being selected for the 2021 National Specialty
Conformation judge and to Vicki DeGruy for being selected as the Sweepstakes judge.

The Board also decided that the 2022 National will be held somewhere west of the Mississippi
River and the National Planning Committee will be working to find a site for it. If any club is
interested in submitting a bid, please contact me and I am happy to assist in any way possible.
Please note that bids for the 2022 National Specialty are due no later than March 26, 2020.

The revised By-Law (as approved by the membership) have been submitted to the AKC for final
approval and are included on the AKC Board agenda for August. Once approved by the AKC
Board, the new By-Laws will take effect immediately. A sincere thank you goes out to Margaret
DiCorletto our AKC Delegate on shepherding this through the AKC, which is no easy task.
