Q. Who is your favorite Chow (dog and bitch) “Duff ” Ame/Brz/Ch. My- Sam’s Emerald Knight with Judge Sam Draper
that you personally bred?
Here I will give you Frank’s first: Dugan, Ch.My-
Sam’s Irish Knight. He was a massive but tall &
well balanced dog. He wasn’t specialled a lot as
he did not enjoy it. We never knew if he would
continue his ring walk or decide to stop & look
around. I swear he did that on purpose to get a
laugh from the crowd. He was the epitome of the
gentle giant. When I look at Wylie I see uncle
Dugan !!!
For me I have two- our fist bitch. China (not bred
by us) who was a dream to show but had health
issues so was never bred. She told me Chows were
easy to show, just follow me around the ring she
said, so I did & thought I was a quick learner – boy
was I wrong but a fun time we always had.
Ruffles, I took her from a co-own litter as I was
losing China. Ruffles, Ch.My-Sam’s Knight Ruffles,
became my soul mate & there will never be another
like her for me. She is Frankie’s grandmother.
Q. If you had one wish for the breed, what
would it be?
That today’s breeders continue to be passionate
about protecting the beauty, character &
temperament of our Chows for future generations.
The Chow member groups are smaller than when
we started but just as hard working & dedicated to
cherish the breed.
