A Psychiatrists Life
Foster Cline, a man who has dedicated his life to helping other people as a doctor and a child psychiatrist, still finds time in his daily life to help and empower other people to this day. He is very inspiring because he always is trying to make other people happy and feel comfortable around him and even now still pursues his dreams no matter how big or how intimidating they are. One thing he likes to tell himself is that if your dreams don't scare you then they are not big enough.
Foster Cline was born June 1st, 1940 in Denver, Colorado. His name was inspired by his grandmother who was not very wealthy and could only afford one novelty, a book which she would read and re-read every night before bed. The main character of this book being named Foster Winfield. As a child Foster Cline was not exactly and A student, he was not a problem student but he just had trouble understanding some of the spelling and mathematics concepts. By freshman year of highschool, he was an A+ student and he credits that to his 8th-grade math teacher and his father.
As a child Foster Cline wanted to be a teacher, when he was put into the army, his opinion changed and he wanted to pursue the field of medicine. A quote that he followed all through his life and still does now is “When choosing a path, always choose the path that leads to the most paths”.The most life changing experience he had was going into the army because it drove him to be a doctor and a child psychiatrist. His most memorable experience as an adult was when he and his wife were floating off the coast of the British Virgin Isles and the fish were going from land to sea right under them.
Now he spends his days volunteering at many different organizations and taking photographs for his photography business, not to mention making art for his art business. He has many different pieces of art in galleries and in banks all over the northwest. He feels that the biggest blessing in life is each other and that every day you get to be around your family and friends is a blessing by itself. He loves his community, the small town of Sandpoint in Idaho. He lives on the lake and kayaks on it very frequently.
Something that he wants our generation to know is that if you want to do something, just go for it. If you work hard enough and long enough anything is possible. Foster Cline has gone through his life doing what he loves and what fulfills him and he has wildly succeeded at what he does.
