ASSOCIATE HIGHLIGHT
Our ACE Associates ― Getting the Most Out of Membership
WYNDY CLARK, YPLC President
The Schrader Group
What has been the most rewarding experience you’ve had as an Associate
member? Receiving a Presidential Citation from immediate past President
Bryan Smith in 2018 for all the accomplishments YPLC achieved as a committee
in 2018.
What committee or event has been your favorite to participate in?
Sales & Marketing Council and YPLC. I love them both equally!
What would you say to someone thinking about joining GSABA?
Join NOW! It’s been the best decision I have made for my career and
professional development. I have the role I have today because of my
involvement and deep connections I made by joining. Being a member of
GSABA- you truly get what you put into it.
How has GSABA influenced your career?
I have made connections that I would most likely not have been exposed to if I
were not a member of GSABA. I have also had opportunities to lead in unique
ways that help me promote not only The Schrader Group but myself as a
professional and connect with the best leaders in our industry.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up I wanted to be a doctor... Real Estate suits me a little better!
MICHAEL TORRES
Independence Wealth Group
What has been the most rewarding experience you’ve had as an Associate
member? My most rewarding experience has been without a doubt the
opportunity to give back in the community, whether it’s helping children and
families in the Strong Foundation or giving back to my brothers and sisters
serving in our nation’s military. Strong values are important to me and finding a
group that supports that is a huge victory.
What committee or event has been your favorite to participate in?
The membership committee was my starting point to getting involved. I
viewed myself as a liaison for GSABA in order to make the new members feel
as welcomed and involved as I felt when I joined. It led to warm productive
meetings that eventually lead to relationships and business over time. Now
my focus is to help our YPLC gain a significant presence within the overall
membership and community.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining GSABA?
There’s A LOT of ways to get involved to grow your business whether it is board
meetings, committees, or big events such as the fishing tournament in June,
start simple. Try something you think you might enjoy doing or learning more
about. You will find wonderful people who are deeply involved that can help
you in any avenue of approach you choose but you’ve got to put the effort in.
ALWAYS make time for the fun ones like mixers and casino night CHA-CHING!
How has GSABA influenced your career?
My business is built solely on relationships and my personal reputation. GSABA affords me the opportunity to maximize my visibility in person and
on social media. It has helped me become a resource to my other networks within the real estate and military community so that they may do the
same. A rising tide raises all ships.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I used to draw every moment I had in my free time and envisioned being some sort of cartoon artist. Those skills don’t pay the bills but I’ll take requests.
